    PlayStation’s internship program is designed to transform students into leaders by providing skills, knowledge, and experiences to support personal growth and business results at PlayStation. Interns are provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience and networking, educational and social opportunities.

    We carry out two concurrent summer intern classes based on the semester and quarter system school calendars.     The Huntington Beach Art Center is excited to present the Surf City Arts Fest 2019. The juried festival will offer 75 booths for artists, an intergenerational art experience with unique hands-on art projects, food and beverage vendors, and live music and dance performances throughout the event.

    What is the Surf City Arts Fest?

    On October 13, 2019, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, HBAC once again combines two of the town’s foremost art events, Family Arts Day and Art in the Park, to present the second annual combined event: Surf City Arts Fest!

    For nearly two decades, Family Arts Day has welcomed hundreds of participants into the Art Center’s galleries, studios, and parking lot to share in a day of exploration, art making, and fun! Professional artists lead over 10 unique, hands-on art projects in this intergenerational event. Children and their families will learn together, sharing the benefits of creative development and play.

    Again this year, the fun extends into Triangle Park where approximately 75 artist booths will be set up for Huntington Beach’s very own fine arts and crafts fair, Art in the Park. Live music and food and beverage vendors will enhance this art experience, guaranteeing a delightful afternoon in our downtown HB neighborhood for all.

    A street closure on Main Street between the Art Center and Triangle Park will allow visitors to stroll between the art making, viewing, and shopping, safely, and at their leisure.

    -Jurying will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 and you will be notified by email on Thursday, September 12, 2019
    -Accepted vendors are required to pay a $125 fee which includes a 10’ x 10’ Canopy

    Position Summary (Intent and purpose of the role)
    The Curatorial team at the Lucas Museum is tasked with overseeing the collection and its strategic growth, development, presentation and interpretation as well as related exhibitions and programs. Curators support and collaborate with the Museum leadership in developing and implementing a cohesive vision and strategy for the collections and exhibitions of the Museum.     J Alexander Diaz is the Associate Creative Director and photographer of the Los Angeles Lakers. He always knew he wanted to be a designer, and yet spent way too many years in college, eventually taking home his BFA in Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach. J has spent the past 7 years helping build and develop the Lakers visual brand, overseeing design and playing an integral part of their social media and digital presence. When he’s not busy living and breathing all things basketball and popular culture, J’s favorite days are spent with his wife and mini-bernedoodle.

    Marcus McDougald joined LAFC in April 2015 and has been involved in almost every creative extension of the Club since its inception.     Jeff Ipjian is the Senior Graphic Designer for the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club and Honda Center Entertainment Venue.  In his time with the Anaheim Ducks he has led design for Season Creative, Social Media graphics, Team Jerseys, Wall Murals and much more. A graduate of the BFA Graphic Design Program at California State University Long Beach, Jeff has locally exhibited work as well as designed merchandise for local companies and his own online shop.

    Tricia Kami is a southern California native and grew up an Angels baseball fan. She obtained a BFA in Graphic Design from Chapman University. She’s worked in a variety of industries as a graphic designer, everything from entertainment (Warner Bros.) to furniture (Living Spaces), and also spent several years freelancing and teaching graphic design at a high school in Anaheim. She is now a graphic designer for the LA Angels which combines her passion for baseball and graphic design.

    J Alexander Diaz is the Associate Creative Director and photographer of the Los Angeles Lakers. He always knew he wanted to be a designer, and yet spent way too many years in college, eventually taking home his BFA in Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach. J has spent the past 7 years helping build and develop the Lakers visual brand, overseeing design and playing an integral part of their social media and digital presence. When he’s not busy living and breathing all things basketball and popular culture, J’s favorite days are spent with his wife and mini-bernedoodle.

    Marcus McDougald joined LAFC in April 2015 and has been involved in almost every creative extension of the Club since its inception. From identity development and jersey design to stadium interior design and content, Marcus thrives on the diversity of creative challenges. Prior to LAFC Marcus worked on the creative teams at YouTube, RED Camera, College Humor, Funny or Die, and over 500+ commercial, music video, documentary, and narrative projects. Marcus attended UC Santa Barbara where he studied Communication and Fine Arts before heading to Columbia College Chicago where he studied Cinematography and Black Studies.

    Whale Journey: Whale migrations through our coastal waters, dangers they face from boats, trap lines, food scarcity, how they feed, etc)

    Where does it go when you go: Our water, sewage, and stormwater systems in Laguna Beach.

    Ready to lead into the future the curriculum for highly innovative computer science and game development programs? Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Technical Program Facilitator (TPF) who is an experienced software programmer and passionate about game development. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to student success and our culture of excellence in both teaching and learning. Serve as a program expert and in various academic and administrative capacities to help ensure Global Campus’ programs and courses are high quality and using industry-relevant technologies. The TPF works closely with Associate Deans and reports to the Associate Dean of Programs.

    Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

    – Serve as subject matter expert for computer science and game development courses

    – Participate in curriculum oversight, for example, evaluating programs, evaluating courses, and serving as course technical expert

    – Serve as coordinator of STEM curriculum development

    – Manage course development projects

    – Develop technical trainings and support materials for instructors and advisors

    – Collaborate with internal and external support services/vendors to engineer, design and/or troubleshoot web-based IDE’s, Virtual Simulations or Labs that work within the technology space (DAAS, SASS, or other services required) as part of the STEM virtual lab suite

    – Research, develop, and test appropriate software/tools/technologies that best support requirements of course/program

    – Implement instructional and design strategies that engage students in their learning in technical content areas

    – Assist in communication and collaboration between academic administration and other stakeholders, especially in terms of technology

    – Develop technology specific training for faculty and students

    – Maintain an effective and efficient working relationship with all participants of the course and program design process

    – Teach up to five course per year, as needed, to gain a holistic perspective as program anchor

    – Adhere to all standard instruction principles when serving as a course instructor

    – Other duties will consist of ongoing participation with the academic unit to include serving on committees and working groups, as needed, and participating in professional development and strategy meetings

    Minimum Qualifications:

    – 4 years of industry experience in software development or game development

    – Must have a master’s in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering, game programming, or similar discipline area

    – Proficient with C++ and C# or Java

    – Experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity, or Lumberyard)

    – Highly effective communication and collaboration skills, particularly in working from a distance, with multiple stakeholders, to effect change and positively impact student success

    – Successful experience working with students and faculty in an online environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    – Industry experience in Full-stack development or game development preferred

    – Experience with cloud-hosted environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

    Work Hours:

    This position a is Remote full-time. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed.

    We are looking for an experienced Lighting Artist to join us in creating high profile original titles for both the VR and AAA console spaces. In this role you be responsible for lighting visually stunning sets and characters for both in-game and cinematic content by working closely with the Art Leads, Designers, Concept, and Environment Artists.

    Successful candidates are able to demonstrate both a strong aesthetic sense for lighting, as well as understanding of how to effectively lead the player through real-time environments and gameplay scenarios. The lighting artist is expected to research and adapt to new techniques as they emerge and to propose lighting related improvements to our general art pipeline and proprietary tools and engine technology. The ability to work both independently and in cooperation with Designers and Environment Artists to complete assignments and a demonstration of strong artistic interpretation skills is also required.

    Qualifications:
    – Strong understanding of color theory and practical lighting concepts
    – Solid knowledge of working within a HDR pipeline and tasteful balancing of post process screen effects
    – Knowledge of a wide range of game lighting techniques (vertex baking, lightmaps, light probes, dynamic, etc)
    – Able to take initial direction and color keys and use interpretive judgment to light gameplay spaces to a high degree of polish and playability
    – Demonstrate an understanding of a range of illustrative lighting styles
    – Efficient organization and communication skills and ability to prioritize and execute ideas within a schedule
    – Excellent technical and artistic problem solving skills

    Position Requirements:
    – Experience Level: 2+ years as a lighting artist
    – Software: Maya

    Additional Skills (Pluses):
    – Strong traditional art background
    – Practical lighting, cinematography, or 2d illustration experience
    – Detailed technical knowledge of game lighting and material pipeline concepts
