Job Description

Venice Arts is interested in animators experienced with multiple forms of animation and animation software; experience with Dragonframe a plus. Animators with a background in education and experienced working with young people at varying levels of experience, strongly preferred. Must be committed to inspiring creativity and engaging young people in visual storytelling, while teaching increasingly complex technical skills.

Venice Arts maintains a pool of qualified, professional photographers, filmmakers, and multimedia artists interested in teaching at Venice. We particularly seek those with a strong background in documentary storytelling, as well as those experienced working with youth. Breadth of knowledge of historic and contemporary artists and practices strongly preferred, and familiarity with a project-based pedagogy a strong plus. Artists are asked to design their own syllabus in support of Venice Arts' learning objectives. Creativity encouraged!

Schedule: Teaching Artists must be available during weekday after-school hours (generally 3:30-6:30), exact day TBD based on the program, from the months September - May. Those interested in summer projects must be available during the month of July.
