Job Description

This mid-level position will have a good few years of industry experience, working alongside other designers in either an in-house or agency setting.

The Graphic Designer will play an integral part within the creative team and they will:
• Possess a keen eye for design and possesses a strong creative voice
• Lay out type, imagery and use colors effectively to successfully design and maintain the (Too Faced) brand aesthetic – creating concepts and designs to brief requirements with some/little guidance from senior team members
• Execute the creative on their own making the necessary revisions until project completion
• Consistently create designs that drive the visual direction of the overall campaign, helping to continually grow the brand aesthetic
• Accurately meet all brief requirements – dimensions, colors, fonts, etc. – and able to give suggestions/recommendations to improve the brief
• Have impeccable attention to detail
• Be an expert at prepping files for production, Inc packaging of assets, file export, in various file formats, etc.
• Posses good creative acumen in a fast paced and high-pressure environment
• Have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and on various timelines
• Have the ability to work directly with executive staff
• Promote a collaborative and creative team environment by engaging other members of the team when appropriate
• Have strong core software knowledge in order to successfully complete their tasks, and assist others
• Be willing to develop existing skills further or learn new tools to elevate their creative and their role
• Be able to follow basic directions as set forth by manager or senior staff

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop seasonal campaigns to promote the company’s key product launches.
• Concept, create and deliver strong design solutions to support in store Visual Merchandising and Marketing initiatives such as fixture graphics, end caps, cash wraps, window designs and store take overs.
• Research current beauty design trends and push team with creative, out of the box thinking.
• Maintain and elevate brand aesthetic across all touch-points, including both domestic and international markets.
• Attend press checks and collaborate with Visual Managers on production needs and best practices.
• Present concepts in a group setting and be a major contributor to group brainstorms.
• Prepare, package and spec files for print.

They will also be responsible for:
• Set the expectations of professionalism at all times - setting an example to other team members is imperative in this role – punctuality, attendance, project completion, etc
• Working in line with company and department standards, following management requests as needed
• Keep their working environment organized, including the work server and creative assets
• Keeping a positive, team-oriented, work environment
• Making sure all their projects that are turned in for review meet all brief requirements, this includes, but is not limited to correct dimensions, file formats, image resolution, content
• Work in line with company and department standards, following management requests as needed
• Working directly with vendors, attend press checks as needed, attain color proofs and approvals (from key stakeholders) and giving vendors accurate guidance to deliver a project to brief
• Take on additional design projects as needed, including but not limited to: product photography, photoshop mock ups, and duties beyond their role as required

Communication

The Graphic Designer will be expected to:
• Maintain open communication with their manager and other team members
• Ensure that project status is communicated to stakeholders regularly to alert of any risks/issues/concerns to project manager in order to ensure effective project management
• Contribute to team meetings and brainstorm sessions, and offer constructive feedback to their peers
• Are able to collaborate with cross functional departments to strategize solutions for successful project completion
• Work collaboratively with other (immediate) team members
• Ask questions that showcase their desire to grow
• Present their own creative to senior staff, clearly and concisely
• Take constructive criticism well and execute feedback successfully
• Give constructive criticism to more junior members of staff, and guide them in the successful completion of their projects

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Requirements
• B.A. or B.F.A. in Graphic Design
• 3+ years corporate Graphic Design experience mandatory. Experience in the beauty/fashion industry preferred
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Passion for print design and display work.
• 3D imaging software knowledge (Sketchup) a plus.
• Experience in pre-press and print production mandatory.
• Must be a self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative.
• Outstanding communication skills: both written and verbal.
• Team player – extremely collaborative, working cross-functionally with multiple touchpoints
• Creative and able to contribute ideas in group settings.
• Exemplary organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
• Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
