Job Description

VISUAL ART TEACHER:
Sounds of Color Studio, Orange County’s best music and creative arts school, is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Visual Art Teacher to meet our growing demand.

Primary responsibilities include teaching Visual Art classes for groups of students ages 4 and up, including all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Weekly projects should be planned to introduce students to new concepts, mediums, artists, and more in a fun and engaging learning environment. Relevant skills and mediums taught include, but are not limited to: watercolor, oil, acrylic, sketching, self-portrait, clay, gouache, and more.

Job Requirements:
- To plan and teach visual art classes for groups of students ages 4 and up
- Prepare fun weekly projects that support student engagement and skill development
- Prompt communication with parents/guardians and timely updates on student progress
- Prepare and clean up the classroom area before/after each class
- Clean background check and medical clearance (Live Scan fingerprint clearance with Department of Justice and FBI is required prior to official start of employment)
- Reliable transportation

- Effective classroom management skills
- A strong background and passion for visual art
- Experience teaching visual art classes is required
- Experience teaching with professional digital art software (Procreate, PaintTool SAI 1 & 2), Wacom® tablets/stylus is a plus!
- Candidates may be asked to submit a portfolio of relevant work for review

Job Type: In-Person, Contract (Part-Time)
Sounds of Color Studio is open Monday - Saturday. Weekday hours (Monday - Friday) are "after school" typically between 2PM - 8PM. Saturday hours are 9 AM - 3 PM. Please visit our website for current studio hours. Class availability is subject to change based on enrollment and demand.
