Do you have excellent realistic drawing and painting skills and absolutely love kids? Would you love to work where one-on-one relationships are warmly encouraged, and where a small group staff support one another in caring, family-like environment? Art Steps, a busy art studio for children, teens and adults, is looking for a kind, fun-loving artist with excellent realistic drawing and painting skills to teach the use of charcoal, pastels, watercolors, acrylics and oils.
We train all our teachers in our methodology, step-by-step, in a classical, highly realistic art program. We also provide assistance in the classroom after you start teaching, so that you always have support.
Starting pay $21 per hour - a part time sub/summer workshop teacher temporary, but with potential for more hours after summer.
Qualifications:
Have good transportation and live no more than 30 minutes away from one of our studio locations.
A portfolio of realistic artwork
A fun, nurturing personality: outgoing and inspirational!
Excellent communication skills
Have a BFA or similar degree in art, or be working toward one
Love to work in a team
You must really like children to be considered for this position!
Be available to sub and to teach summer workshops June through August
