IT Helpdesk Student Worker

Laguna College of Art + Design is seeking a part-time IT Helpdesk Student Worker.

Position Summary:

The IT Helpdesk Student Worker will assist students with questions, A/V, checkouts and problems concerning computer systems, hardware, and software while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency. This position requires excellent problem-solving with outstanding communication and customer service skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide quick and effective assistance with information technology systems
• Guide others in person through AV systems configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Listen attentively to users’ questions and concerns and offer optimal solutions
• Prioritize user satisfaction in all communications, directing unresolved issues to next-level personnel
• Represent LCAD with professionalism and integrity
• Respond to tech inquiries via email, over the phone, or in person
• Inform users about IT checkout rules and procedures
• Walk users step-by-step through the problem-solving process
• Help with troubleshooting hardware and software
• Properly check equipment out to users through the inventory management system
• Communicate user feedback to the appropriate internal team members
• Help maintain and manage LCAD IT infrastructure

Physical Essential Functions:
Sitting, typing, and moving from one place to another. This position takes place indoors in an office environment sitting at a desk and working in front of a computer. Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.

Business Hours:
This position is scheduled to work 12-20 hours per week, depending on availability. Helpdesk operation hours are Monday – Saturday, 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Regular hours may vary based on the College’s needs. Overtime, weekend, and evening hours may be required. Travel may be required.

Classification and Status:
This is a non-exempt position.
This is a part-time, student position.

Hourly Wage: $16.00 per hour
