Job Description

Maintain studio, equipment, and supplies are kept clean regularly and everything is available in working
condition for the Artist. Keeps Procedural Flow for New Works. Arranges for chasing and welding of
prototypes.
· Reports to Creative Manager and/or Artist
· Completes purchase orders for supplies and equipment, inspects them on arrival and stores
them so everything in the quantity and quality needed is always available for the artist.
· Ensures all studio materials and supplies have a storage place and that they are stored
neatly and cleanly.
· Make accurate entries as required in the Procedural Flow Manual and is responsible for
the safekeeping of the manual and for its total accuracy. Ensures final patina chemistry is
logged accurately in the Procedural Flow Manual.
· Cleans the studio equipment as needed and puts everything back in its proper place.
· Clean the studio including adjacent areas, and remove all waste so the Works and the
Studio are kept spotless.
· Checks studio lighting, music, heating, cooling, and other equipment to work. Arranges
for periodic or other maintenance as required through the Warehouse Manager.
· Assists Artist/Creator as requested and through Administrative Assistant maintains
schedule for models and arranges to receive them. Builds, maintains, and repairs armatures.
· Develops Quality Control criteria for approval by Artist/Creator and Studio Manager.
Trains the QC and production personnel at the Studio to apply the quality criteria and that they
fully understand how the criteria apply to each work. Periodically inspects works to ensure
that Quality Control process is being applied both by foundry and studio personnel.
· Under the direction of the Studio Manager inspect foundry workers’ work processes and to
quality audit their work-in-process.
· Responsible for safekeeping and for maintaining inventory records of all Works in the
Studio (Work, alpha-numeric code, quantity, edition number and location) and gives copy to
Accounting Manager when requested. Separate inventory records will be kept for completed
bronzes and flat art in the Studio. Issues Works, Hard Copies and Molds from Studio only
when instructed by Artist/Creator.
· Responsible for safe storage of all Hard Copies and Molds at Studios. Maintains location
records, supported by Shipping Order and Receipts of all Hard Copies and Molds at foundries.
Ensures each Mold has a metal tag with alpha-numeric code and title of Work securely
attached. Periodically inspects all molds at AWF foundry to ensure they are maintained in
peak condition for trouble-free casting. Receive necessary paperwork from data and Accounts
Receivable and maintains hard copies and Mold Register that records all transfers, receipts,
repairs, dates, condition and location for all hard copies and molds.
· Assists mold-maker as required in details of cutting, welding, measuring, etc. as directed
by studio manager.
· Keeps the schedule for Introduction of New Works and arranges with Sculpture
Fulfillment Coordinator for work photography. Advises studio manager to tell vice president,
sales of changes of more than two weeks in scheduled availability dates of new Works.
Keep the Studio area secure at all times.
