    WE RISE (WeRise.LA) is part of a campaign to transform our mental health care system using art and community building to unite efforts to foster the empowerment of mental health and wellbeing as a civil right. This year’s theme is about building connections to community and a life of purpose for a better future where everyone can be their best self.     The AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian Performing Arts Center is a new theater facility located in Pasadena.  The Center is looking for a Theater Assistant to work varied weekday evenings and weekend shifts at approximately 30 hours per week.

    General Theater Assistance
    –    Assist Theater Manager, tech personnel and production crews during rehearsals and shows.
    –    Assist with production load-ins, setting up and taking down tables & chairs, general upkeep of lobby, stage & dressing rooms.
    –    Assistance with crowd flow during productions, answering patron questions, monitoring outside crowd flow and parking lot flow.
    –    Assist with social media; creating posts leading up to, and during, shows.

    Box Office Assistance
    –    Knowledge of in-house ticketing platform (can be trained on the software).
    –    Assist with show preparation, monitoring ticket sales, printing and sorting will-call tickets, ensuring ticket scanners are operable and ready to be used, etc.
    –    Troubleshooting any ticket scanner issues before and during show, assisting ticket takers and ushers.
    –    Assist with box-office ticket distribution when needed.

    Production Assistance
    –    Some technical knowledge of sound and light systems a plus.
    –    Tech assistance during rehearsals, pre-show and post-show, including moving on-stage equipment, cabling and taping.
    –    Maintain tech storage cabinet; labeling cords, mics, stands, keeping general inventory.

    Maintenance Assistance
    –    Assisting with general maintenance needs such as touch-up paint, sweeping, moving chairs and tables in lobby and multi-purpose room, small cleaning tasks.
    –    Assist with general contractors.
    –    Upkeep and inventory of theater storage rooms.

    Misc.

    The student will have the opportunity to work on these tasks:
