    This position does not require you to be on-site with us, but a portfolio of miniature sculpts must be submitted for us to consider your application. We are accepting both traditional and digital sculpt portfolios.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    – Expert sculptor of 28-54 millimeter miniatures that demonstrates understanding of the art fundamentals, including but not limited to: compositional design, lighting and rendering, character design, anatomy, etc.
    – Strong visual style, with an ability to deliver crisp, highly detailed final sculpts

    Under the direction of the Visitor Experience Director, the Visitor Experience Floor Manager serves is the acting floor manager of the museum, responsible for oversight of all staff working on the museum floor, and responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the museum are at the highest level possible. This role also oversees basic maintenance of the museum spaces, scheduling museum staff, ordering props and supplies, hiring and training staff, and other day-to-day operational logistics related to staffing and scheduling. The Floor Manager Visitor
    Experience serves as the main point of contact for staff and visitors during open hours, and is responsible for communicating all relevant information to the Visitor Experience Director and other senior staff. The ideal candidate will be an organized and engaging person with a passion for serving children and families, a background in STEAM and Maker-based learning. This person must be comfortable serving as a leader and supervisor within a creative team at a vibrant and growing children’s museum.

    AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
    − Serves as Floor Manager on duty during scheduled hours, responding to all visitor or staff needs and communicating to other departments and staff as necessary
    − Works closely with the other Floor Manager to schedule and supervise all staff on the museum floor (Play Guides) and in the lobby (Front Desk Associates)
    − Works closely with the Facilities & Exhibits Manager to maintain supplies of exhibit props and to ensure exhibits are in working order
    − Develops and oversees inventory of specific museum items ensuring exhibits, storage areas, break areas, art studios and other areas are properly supplied and well organized
    − Oversees a master schedule of internal staff cleaning and organizing in previously mentioned areas. Trains staff as needed on proper procedures
    − Researches and purchases museum props and supplies with an eye to innovative, creative, unique and unexpected materials and items in line with the Cayton Children’s Museums aesthetic vision
    − Hires and oversees contract teaching artists or presenters as needed with a particular focus on STEAM and Maker-based learning
    − Hires, trains and supervises new staff as needed for Play Guide and Front Desk Associate positions.
    − Coordinates with fellow Floor Manager and all other departments to make sure calendars and bookings are organized and communicated to museum staff and admin team daily
    − Works closely with security to ensure all security protocols are followed by staff, and that visitors are supported in making safe and healthy choices while in the museum

    The Graphic Designer will be responsible for fulfilling the graphic needs for the

    Surfrider Foundation’s global staff, including the design, layout and oversight of

    production for various marketing and communication projects. These projects

    include, but are not limited to: print collateral, digital/web assets, apparel, and

    assisting in the development and optimization of e-newsletter and website

    templates.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -Work with the Director of Marketing and Marketing team to develop and maintain a consistent brand identity throughout all print and online marketing materials

    -Work with staff to design and produce print collateral including: brochures, posters, stickers, pamphlets, mailers, signage, and more

    -Assist the Marketing Manager and Communications Manager to complete a new Brand Style Guide and Identity Handbook

    -Oversee design, layout and production of bi-annual print zine

    -Work in coordination with the Marketing and Mail Order teams to identify, design, and source apparel and merchandise that best represent the brand

    -Work with appropriate team members to develop an online media toolkit of banners and engaging graphics for each program and initiative

    -Assist with the design and layout of digital newsletters and email templates

    -Produce innovative digital assets including banners, buttons, website mockups and wireframes, hero imagery and engaging infographics

    -Assist with website/microsite updates and CRM — including some HTML/CSS

    -Help lead photo/video production and editing in coordination with Marketing Manager
