A graduate of the BFA Graphic Design Program at California State University Long Beach, Jeff has locally exhibited work as well as designed merchandise for local companies and his own online shop.

    Tricia Kami is a southern California native and grew up an Angels baseball fan. She obtained a BFA in Graphic Design from Chapman University. She’s worked in a variety of industries as a graphic designer, everything from entertainment (Warner Bros.) to furniture (Living Spaces), and also spent several years freelancing and teaching graphic design at a high school in Anaheim. She is now a graphic designer for the LA Angels which combines her passion for baseball and graphic design.

    J Alexander Diaz is the Associate Creative Director and photographer of the Los Angeles Lakers. He always knew he wanted to be a designer, and yet spent way too many years in college, eventually taking home his BFA in Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach. J has spent the past 7 years helping build and develop the Lakers visual brand, overseeing design and playing an integral part of their social media and digital presence. When he’s not busy living and breathing all things basketball and popular culture, J’s favorite days are spent with his wife and mini-bernedoodle.

    Marcus McDougald joined LAFC in April 2015 and has been involved in almost every creative extension of the Club since its inception. From identity development and jersey design to stadium interior design and content, Marcus thrives on the diversity of creative challenges. Prior to LAFC Marcus worked on the creative teams at YouTube, RED Camera, College Humor, Funny or Die, and over 500+ commercial, music video, documentary, and narrative projects. Marcus attended UC Santa Barbara where he studied Communication and Fine Arts before heading to Columbia College Chicago where he studied Cinematography and Black Studies.

    Tricia Kami is a southern California native and grew up an Angels baseball fan. She obtained a BFA in Graphic Design from Chapman University. She’s worked in a variety of industries as a graphic designer, everything from entertainment (Warner Bros.) to furniture (Living Spaces), and also spent several years freelancing and teaching graphic design at a high school in Anaheim. She is now a graphic designer for the LA Angels which combines her passion for baseball and graphic design.

    J Alexander Diaz is the Associate Creative Director and photographer of the Los Angeles Lakers. He always knew he wanted to be a designer, and yet spent way too many years in college, eventually taking home his BFA in Graphic Design from California State University, Long Beach. J has spent the past 7 years helping build and develop the Lakers visual brand, overseeing design and playing an integral part of their social media and digital presence. When he’s not busy living and breathing all things basketball and popular culture, J’s favorite days are spent with his wife and mini-bernedoodle.

    Marcus McDougald joined LAFC in April 2015 and has been involved in almost every creative extension of the Club since its inception. From identity development and jersey design to stadium interior design and content, Marcus thrives on the diversity of creative challenges. Prior to LAFC Marcus worked on the creative teams at YouTube, RED Camera, College Humor, Funny or Die, and over 500+ commercial, music video, documentary, and narrative projects. Marcus attended UC Santa Barbara where he studied Communication and Fine Arts before heading to Columbia College Chicago where he studied Cinematography and Black Studies.

In this role you be responsible for lighting visually stunning sets and characters for both in-game and cinematic content by working closely with the Art Leads, Designers, Concept, and Environment Artists.

    Successful candidates are able to demonstrate both a strong aesthetic sense for lighting, as well as understanding of how to effectively lead the player through real-time environments and gameplay scenarios.     The Cleveland Institute of Art is seeking a full-time/academic year Technical Specialist to assist in the Fabrication Studios Department. The Fabrication Studios are used by students from all of the CIA disciplines and will include first-year foundation students.

    The Fabrication Studios Technical Specialist is expected to promote a safe, productive and accessible experience for students, faculty and other members of the CIA community using the Fabrication Studios woodshop, metal shop, plastics shop, machining shop, oil clay room, paint spray booth, and plaster/stone room. This will be achieved through their own efforts and through the organization of students, equipment and supplies. Additionally, the Technical Specialist is expected to assist the Director of Fabrication Studios in the attendance to the cleanliness/organization of the entire Fabrication Studios and provide support for special projects. The Fabrication Studios Technical Specialist reports to the Director of Fabrication Studios.

    The Fabrication Studios Technical Specialist coordinates and works to facilitate faculty, students and their respective departments, which includes: assisting in the management of work-study students to maintain the Fabrication Studios work spaces; coordinating with the Director of Fabrication Studios for purchasing materials, working with students to build their projects, and conducting technical workshops. In addition, the Technical Specialist assists faculty in setting up and conducting class demos, provides assistance to Visiting Artist using the Fabrication Studios, general studio setup, and assists in the departmental cleanup at the end of the year.

    Fabrication Studios Technical Specialist Responsibilities:
    – Reinforce shop safety with all students, with an emphasis on safe operation of all equipment and tools; effective and appropriate craftsmanship; and cooperation in a shop environment.
    – Oversee and assist students working on projects.
    – Conduct the system for check out of tools and equipment, and accountability for failure to follow procedures.
    – Preventative maintenance, general maintenance and repairs of shop equipment.
    – Maintain inventory of shop consumables such as MIG wire, foam, glue, nails, wood, etc. for student use which requires interaction with business office and necessary paperwork.
    – Assist in the training and supervision of work‐study students including development of schedule to assure maximum shop accessibility for students and faculty.
    – Monitor shop supplies and consumables inventory in conjunction with the Director of Fabrication Studios.
    – Work in coordination with the Fabrication Studios Staff on maintaining an orderly and clean studio.
    – General department support.
    – Provide general (non‐teaching) assistance to faculty.
    – Coordinate with all CIA Technical Specialists to ensure safety procedures are reinforced or supplemented.

    Other Responsibilities:
    – Conducts technical workshops for CIA community to share personal background and showcase use of Fabrication Studios.
    – Assists faculty conducting demos – and purchase of supplies for these, sets up the work area, etc.
    – Supports and facilitates all faculty working in the Fabrication Studios.
    – Works with students one on one in solving technical problems and building.

    Requirements:
    – The Fabrication Studios Technical Specialist will have acquired formal knowledge and skills through a four-year college degree that included applied fabrication shop experience in a design, art or craft-related discipline, or through applied fabrication shop experience of more than 5 years.
    – Experience with CAD/CAM software; experience running 3-axis CNC (Shopbot)
    – Maintenance of equipment as necessary and inventory of supplies.
    – Ability to work with materials used in the woodshop, metal shop, paint spray booth, oil clay room, and plaster/stone room of the Fabrication Studios.
    – Ability to work with people in a helpful and courteous manner including faculty, work-study students, and other members of the CIA community.
    – Strong communication skills including required use of CIA email and voicemail and use of notices to communicate with students.

    Our company produces digital and physical output of print media, signage, physical art and architectural design. Our output devices include small and large format printers with cutting capability, CNC routers and laser cutting and etching devices.

    LCAD students are invited to paint live and sell work at LAGUNA BEACH SMARTSCAPE WATER WISE EXPO on

    Saturday, October 12th, 8:00 AM -2:00 PM

    Painting spaces:
    First come, first served. Arrive to set-up 7:30am – 8 am.
    Students may choose what and where they wish to set up- anywhere on the inside water district ‘s grounds.

    There’s a pond with fish and tortoises, beautiful old trees including an original sycamore and palm planted when the water district and city building were first created. There are also water-wise native plants mixed with succulent. There is historic and new architecture on the front and sides of the buildings.

    Parking:
    Consider carpooling, public transit or being dropped off and picked up. There is a city lot (pay) next to city hall and parking (pay) meters (3 hours max).

    Student is responsible for :

    – Sales that are made. Have your work priced. This is a great opportunity to practice speaking with potential collectors.

    – Bring easel, chair and materials you will need that can easily be used on location.

    Misc:
    – Rear area will have vendor booths a stage, and lunch at noon for purchase.

    – A bathroom is available near the front parking area .

    – Bring sun protection; hat, sunscreen…

    – Photographers welcome!

    Requirements:
    – 2+ years of experience working as an Animator in the games industry.

    You possess the spellbinding FX secrets which are not fully understood. You give the spark to the flame, the wind to the storm, and the mighty force behind every explosion. You wield a special type of magic – and we want you to be our first FX artist!

    You’ll create brilliant real-time FX using Photoshop, Maya, and in-game FX systems, and you’ll handcraft visual effects for real-time game assets. You’ll also be taking care of our technical setup, integration, and troubleshooting of FX in a real-time game engine.

    Be part of the foundation of Bonfire, and be part of a close knit team focused on early stage multiplayer game development. You will have a huge impact on our first game, as you work with our small team of artists, designers, and engineers.

    Skill Check
    – You can create dynamic or rigid body simulations
    – You’re proficient with 3D graphics, particle systems, physics, ribbons, etcYou have a good working knowledge of rendering engines (Unreal, Unity etc)

    – We estimate the person will have, at the very least, 5 years experience in game development or film, and will have shipped at least one AAA project
